The Thought Industries and GoTo integration provides admin and learners with a seamless virtual learning experience.
Use Case Information
Admins have the ability to create and monitor GoTo webinars and trainings from within the Thought Industries platform. Learners can join without road blocks directly in your site's content. This integration allows admin to focus on delivering engaging content that encourages learner retention and satisfaction.
When configured you can control the following:
- Set up webinars and trainings within content directly in Thought Industries.
- Sync data seamlessly between Thought Industries and GoTo allowing admin to view and analyze relevant data such as registrants and attendance in Thought Industries reporting.
- Learners have the ability to register for and launch events directly from Thought Industries.
Connect your GoTo Account
Before connecting a GoTo account in Thought Industries, please log out of Citrix, then follow the steps below. You must already have accounts set up with GoTo before connecting to Thought Industries.
- From your homepage, navigate to Events > Settings.
- In the left menu, select Webinar Providers.
- Add account.
- You will be directed outside of the Thought Industries platform to login to your GoTo account. Add account information and log in to the GoTo account you wish to connect.
- Click Authorize to allow Thought Industries access to the GoTo account.
Creating Content with GoTo
GoTo Webinars
Once a GoTo account is connected, navigate to Content and follow the steps below to add a non-recurring GoTo Webinar (see next set of steps for GoTo Training):
- From your homepage, navigate to Events > All Events.
- Click the blue + icon in the upper right of the page.
- Select VILT or Webinar content type template.
- Enter a name for the Content.
- Select GoToWebinar from the Webinar Provider drop down menu.
- Select the Webinar Provider Connection account from the Webinar Connection drop down menu.
- Select a co-organizer. (Optional - functionality only available for GoTo Webinar)
- Enter a Webinar Attendee Dial-in number or a Webinar Organizer Dial-in number. (optional)
- Enter a Start Date/Time and an End Date/Time in the Webinar Date & Time fields.
- Click Save.
GoTo Trainings
GoTo Trainings have slightly different set up options at the time of creation. Once a GoTo account is connected, navigate to Content and follow the steps below to add a non-recurring GoTo Training:
- From your homepage, navigate to Events > All Events.
- Click the blue + icon in the upper right of the page.
- Select VILT or Webinar content type template.
- Enter a name for the Content.
- Select GoToTraining from the Webinar Provider drop down menu.
- Select the Webinar Provider Connection account from the Webinar Connection drop down menu.
- Enter a Start Date/Time and an End Date/Time in the Webinar Date & Time fields.
- Enable Disable Confirmation Email? toggle if you are planning to use Learner Notifications from the Thought Industries platform to send confirmation emails.
- Click Save.
Tip
If Pre/Post learning is enabled, the Thought Industries Meeting page is needed in your course outline for learners to access your webinar.
Note
Each setting can be modified up until the start of the webinar or meeting. The settings are available on the creation page, in the Event Info Tab, and on the session creation page. The settings are not available when importing individually or in bulk.
Import Existing Webinar with GoTo
If you've created an event in GoTo, you can import the webinar into Thought Industries using the webinar ID.
To import an existing GoTo webinar or training:
- From your homepage, navigate to Events > All Events.
- Click the blue + icon in the upper right of the page.
- Select VILT or Webinar content type template.
- Click Import Existing Webinar (below the Save button).
- Enter the existing webinar ID.
- Select GoToWebinar or GoToTraining from the Webinar Provider dropdown menu.
- Select the Webinar Connection.
- Click Save.
Note
For GoTo Webinar & GoTo Training, we support default registration type that is selected when there are multiple meetings. The default registration type for GoTo Webinar is "Register Individually". The default registration type for GoTo Training is "Register Once for all Sessions".
Reporting
After the webinar is complete, GoTo reports back to Thought Industries.
GoTo Webinar & GoTo Training Information
- First Name, Last Name, and Email Addresses of all learners.
- This includes both registered learners and learners who attend without prior registration, if allowed.
GoToWebinar only
- Average Attentiveness: the percent of time the GoToWebinar Viewer is the primary window. On the attendee’s screen.
- Average Interest: calculated by an algorithm using the following variables: Registration Data, Polling, Q&A/Chat, Attentiveness, Survey, Attendance Length, and number of inputs.
- Total Registrants: total number of learners who registered for the VILT.
- Total Attendees: total number of learners who viewed the VILT.
- Average Time in Course: average time that an attendee was in the webinar in hours and minutes.
