COMMUNICATIONS
ICS enhancements: Attach to email and include event description
This release includes a couple more enhancements to our ICS functionality. You can now use our new {{icsAttachment}}
substitution value to attach an ICS file to the learner notification email (as opposed to an in-email link) and you can include a content description in the ICS file as well. See our support article on Creating Learner Notifications for more detail.
We released the following Accessibility improvements:
- Use standard autocomplete values for common input fields on learner profile page so that all learners can understand the purpose of these form fields.

We released the following Accessibility improvements:
- Use standard autocomplete values for common input fields in registration form so that all learners can understand the purpose of these form fields.
- Ensure that the profile image selector in the learner profile has a visual focus indicator and an accessible label so that the page is more easily navigable by learners navigating by keyboard and screen reader.
- Ensure that the tabs on the learner profile page provide sufficient color contrast so that the tab text is legible for learners with reduced vision.
We released fixes for the following:
- Marking a learner complete in a learning path as a manager does not grant a certificate.
- Using the Course Content Search feature (under Control Panel Other Features), pages that have been deleted from courses are returned in the search results within the course (note that this fix is NOT retroactive to pages that were deleted before this update was released).
- When a learner downloads their purchase transactions from the platform (via the purchase tab) the CSV displays dollar amounts without decimal places.
- When the Credly Feature Flag is on, and an Admin user opens a Learner’s activity tab, a processing error is seen in certain scenarios.
- New panorama admins/managers are not able to use the buttons on the panorama dashboard the first time they login in certain scenarios.

We released the following quality improvements:
Respect limit days of access setting for learning paths in collections
- You can now limit the number of days learners have access to learning paths that are purchased as part of collections. This change will only apply to purchases made after this release.
Search Functionality Migration
- We recently migrated our underlying search functionality as part of a general maintenance and security update to our platform.
The upgrade didn’t introduce any major changes to search functionality but it will contribute to new functionality for several other projects that are planned or currently in development.
Depending on how you're using search, you may have also noticed a couple of minor changes to search behavior. The new search engine is less tolerant of improperly constructed search strings, so be sure to follow the guidance from our support article about Writing a Search Query. Additionally, the new search engine is a bit better at parsing (or “tokenizing”) strings of text, so you may notice that your searches return more extensive results. For example, it may return different forms of the word you’re looking for (e.g., if you search for “walks” you may also get results for “walk” or “walking”).

We released the following quality improvements:
- You can now use the course-group-instructors, which has a default value of Instructor: |||| Instructors:, to customize the term “Instructor(s)” as it appears in two places in the learner UI: on the content detail page in the Meetings tab and in the Meeting page within a course. (This is an existing translation that previously wasn’t being used anywhere.)
We released fixes for the following:
- Entering panorama reporting (explore) as a main site admin and then clicking into explore of main site reporting continues to display panorama reporting.
- Bulk Importing Learners to an Event does not display all learners on the Roster.
- Using a CAM Rich Text asset with a $ symbol is changing the text of inserted CAM asset.
- Able to create a manager profile from a learner profile with a NULL value for "role".

CONTENT
Admin Resource Library
The Admin Resource Library is a place for managers to upload files, resources, and documents to a course that are admin-facing only. User flows for adding content to the library are similar to the existing Resource Library, however the main difference is the intended audience for these resources. The Admin Resource Library serves course managers and instructors, and learners do not have any access to the content within it.
PANORAMA
Panorama Authoring: Create and Copy ILTs
If you are utilizing panorama authoring, we've released a new permission that allows panorama authors to create and copy ILT events. This new permission, Managing ILTs, is specific to panorama custom roles.
Some things to know before enabling:
- Panorama authors can create and configure ILTs similar to main site authors, but with certain limitations:
- Location dropdown will filter to only show locations added within the panorama
- Instructors field is hidden in panorama
- For ILTs with pre-post learning, we will maintain similar limitations that are enforced on courses created in panorama
- Panorama authors can copy ILTs they create or that are provisioned from the main site.
- If a panorama author is restricted from viewing certain settings (e.g. tags), those settings will be stripped out of the copied version.
Note
COMING SOON: Panorama Authoring Documentation is in the works. Stay tuned for more details on this feature!
We released the following quality improvements:
- Do your learner notifications include ICS links (from substitution values
{{addToCalendarLink}}
and{{downloadCalendarIcs}}
)? We’ve enhanced our ICS functionality so that when learners add these events to their calendar of choice, the resulting calendar event will include a 10-minute reminder for the webinar start time. The additional nudge right before the webinar begins has been shown to increase learner engagement.
TRANSLATIONS
"Instructor" Translatable on Content Detail Page and Course Meeting Page
Our August 9th release will include a change where we start applying an existing translation in new places within the learner interface.
The course-group-instructors
translation is currently not used anywhere in the learner interface. This translation has a default value of Instructor: |||| Instructors:
. After the August 9th release, you’ll be able to use it to customize the term “Instructor(s)” as it appears in two places in the learner interface:
- The Content Detail page in the Meetings tab
- The Meeting page within a course
