π Today marks the launch of an exciting evolution in your authoring experience with our course outline upgrade! π
This update is live in the authoring experience for all users.
Drag and Drop Rearranging
Say goodbye to the days of rigid structures and hello to flexibility like never before! We're ecstatic to unveil the release of our #1 most requested feature: drag and drop functionality for rearranging your course outline. You are now able to move pages across lessons and sections, lessons across sections, and whole sections up or down. Effortlessly reorganize your learning journey with a simple click and drag!
Splitting Sections
With this update, you also have the power to split sections seamlessly, allowing you to pivot when needed, without recreation. No more feeling confined by traditional boundaries β embrace the freedom to tailor your curriculum to suit your unique needs!
Note
In order to see this feature, at least two sections need to be present in the course outline.
Editing and Publishing
All existing features like adding pages, publishing all or one section, adding section release dates, and creating sample lessons are still there for you, but may look a little different.
Adding a Section:

Adding or Changing a Section Release Date:
Updating the Lesson Open To field:
Only displays the set option under the Lesson Title if different from the default.
GRADING
Improved Grading Search
Weβve improved search logic for the assignment list on the Grading page to make it easier to find the assignments youβre looking for. The search now includes assignment titles (in addition to content titles, learner names, learner emails, and assignment responses) and weβve also improved the relative weighting of those fields to surface the strongest matches at the top of the list. Search results will also now match on numbers the same way they do letters. If your search string includes special characters, those will be included as part of the search.
Go toΒ CoursesΒ >Β Grading to check it out!
Note
Assignment titles need to be reindexed before theyβll appear in search results; contact the Thought Industries Support Team for help with reindexing.
We released the following quality improvements:
- Include course group title on certificates and in certificate granted notification emails.
- New substitution value for email translations
-
%{courseGroupTitle}
available to be added to thecourseCertificateGrant.subject
andcourseCertificateGrant.header
email translation fields. - Find these translations by going to SettingsΒ >Β Translations >Β Email Translations.
-
- New certificate field type
- βCourse Group Titleβ available for course certificates (not available for learning paths). The field type can also be added to transcripts.
- To add the new field type, go toΒ Settings >Β Certifications.
- New substitution value for email translations
- Return client sku and disabled status for Client List REST API endpoint.
We released fixes for the following:
- When a content item is in a folder, if a tag is added/removed, the folder name can be seen temporarily in the Release tabβs tags area.
- Bulk Import Sessions button displaying to Panorama authoring roles.
February 20th, 2024
We released fixes for the following:
- Having the "Instructor takes survey on behalf of learner?" setting toggled on should prevent the learner from taking the survey.
- Folder names are being displayed as tags on the Content Authoring Release Page.
- Improvements to grading search logic.

New Types of Immediate Learner Notifications
Increase learner engagement with three new action types now available in learner notifications! The new trigger type βSend immediately after a learner performs actionβ includes three new learner content actions: learner starts the content, learner completes the content, and learner marked as not-complete in the content. These are added to our existing βimmediately after enrollmentβ notification to expand your options for communicating with learners on a timeline that works for your business.
See the Learner Notifications article for more guidance.
We released the following quality improvements:
- Populate event date in default calendar event produced by
addToMicrosoftOutlookCalendar
substitution value in learner notifications. - Set all onboarding survey response fields to null when the Delete User API is called.
