REPORTING
Reinstatement of Last Active Date
We've released an update to reinstate the population of the Last Active field. This update will reinstate everywhere the data point gets updated, based on the below methodology.
Curious about why this data point is so tricky? With dozens of different inputs, complex calculations like this one require a powerful database and optimized data infrastructure.
We released the following Accessibility improvements:
- Ensure header navigation elements have accessible names so that screen reader users can successfully navigate the page.
We released fixes for the following:
- If the Completion Criteria for the Video page are set up and then this Video page is deleted from the Course Outline, the Completion Criteria are not deleted.

Learning Path Enhancements
Multiple learning path enhancements are now live! Take advantage of these enhancements to improve the way you work and the way learners take content. You can now:
- Set up flexible learning paths where learners can take milestones in any order
- Copy existing milestones across learning paths
- Use Snippets and the Asset Library in milestone descriptions
- Let learners expand and collapse milestones to keep them focused on their learning journey
Read on to learn more!
Flexible Learning Paths
Introducing Force Linear Progress for Learning Paths! This new setting determines the order in which learners can complete required content in a learning path.
When the “Force Linear Progress” setting is enabled (default):
- Learners must complete all milestone requirements before the next milestone becomes unlocked. When milestones contain requirements, learners must complete milestones in a linear order within the learning path.
When the “Force Linear Progress” setting is disabled:
- Learners can take content across milestones in any order, even when milestones contain completion requirements. All milestones will be unlocked so that learners can choose which order they complete the content. Milestone completion criteria will still be enforced as always, and learners still need to complete all milestone requirements in order to have the milestone be marked complete.
You can find this new setting in learning paths by going to Courses > All Courses > Click on Learning Path Title > Expand Learning Path Options. Make sure to save if you disable the toggle!
Note
The Force Linear Progress setting being enabled was the pre-existing learning path behavior so by default, there will be no change. Action is only needed if you want to take advantage of creating a flexible learning path by disabling this setting.
Copying Milestones
Admins will now have a way to copy a milestone from one learning path to another. When a user adds a new milestone, they have the option to search for an existing milestone to copy.
When copying a milestone--all content, completion criteria, descriptions, and settings will carry over to the copy.
If a milestone contains a competency assessment, the assessment and all its configurations are carried to the copy.
Tip
This copy is a new, independent milestone and not linked to the original in any way. If a user makes changes to the original milestone or to the new copied milestone, changes only affect that individual learning path.
Note
This feature will only be available at main site. Panorama authors will not see the Existing Milestone tab.
Milestone Description field is now a WYSIWYG
The learning path milestone description field is updated from a plain text field to a WYSIWYG field, to give users additional formatting options. Any pre-existing content in this field has been maintained. Because it is a WYSIWYG field, you can now take advantage of Snippets or the Asset Library to keep up with milestone descriptions!
You can access this description using the pencil icon besides the Milestone Title. Previously located under the ‘edit’ button besides the milestone Completion Criteria.
This release may impact your custom CSS. To target this milestone description with CSS on the Learning Path Milestone widget:
- (List View) :
learning-path-milestone-item__subtitle class
has been changed tolearning-path-milestone__description
- (Timeline View):
learning-path-timeline-milestone__subtitle
class has been changed tolearning-path-timeline-milestone__description
Please double check any custom CSS targeting the classes above and make updates as needed.
Milestone Accordions
Allow learners to expand or collapse their milestones on the learning path page so they can stay more focused and less overwhelmed.
Within the Learning Path Milestone widget settings, a new toggle called Enable milestone accordions? is now available! Make sure to check your global layout and custom layouts if you'd like to apply this new setting.
Path to Global Layout: Site > Site Builder > Layouts > Learning Path Layout > Actions > Edit
Path to Custom Layout: Courses > All Courses > Choose Your Learning Path > Design Step > Display Tab > Add Custom Layout
When the accordion setting is disabled (default):
- There is no change to the current widget layout
When the accordion setting is enabled:
- Each milestone header becomes an accordion that can be expanded to reveal the content or collapsed to reduce scrolling. Completion criteria also displays within the milestone header for visibility at all times.
Tip
If you need a bird's eye view on the topic of learning paths, read all about them in our article about Learning Paths and our article about Adaptive Learnings Paths.
We released the following quality improvements:

April 16th, 2024
We released fixes for the following:
- The replaceCourseIds, replaceCourseTagIds, and replaceLearningPathIds properties will apply to the Main license as well as the client. If these properties are set to false, then any new content included in the API request will be added but access will be unchanged for any existing content already provisioned to the client or the Main license. (Previously, Main license access was always replaced, even when the replace properties were set to false.)
- When accessing "My Account" from the admin dashboard's lower left corner and selecting the "Access" tab, the screen displays as blank.
- When attempting to delete an award, the confirmation dialogue "Are you sure?" is cut off.
- After a Main Site user archives a Course from a Panorama Courses list, or an Event from a Panorama Events list, the archived item is seen on the active courses / events list with its archived status displayed until the page is refreshed.
- When an instructor provides video feedback on an assessment, learners cannot access the video feedback.

REPORTING
Updated Client Engagement Dashboard
Today we released an improved version of the Client Engagement Dashboard that has been slightly redesigned in response to customer input about data clarity and requests for a dashboard-level date filter.
As a main site manager role, go to Panorama > Click Panorama Name > Reporting > Reports > Client Engagement Dashboard to see the new version.
Changes include:
- Improved dashboard filtering for license, date, and user active status.
- Slight adjustments to the following tiles:
- Total Content Views tile has replaced the former Total Page & Content Views tile.
- You’ll now see a new tile to show the number of New Learners Added within a given time frame.
- We’ve also removed a few tiles that present fundamentally dissimilar data from the rest of this dashboard because they can’t be logically filtered for a specific date range, but the data is available elsewhere in reporting (e.g., learner content status is available in the Reporting Hub explore 'How many learners have started content and not completed it?')
- Last Active Date has been removed from all tiles but our data teams are continuing a separate effort to reinstate that data point and will add it back in to this report.
A few other key notes about the data in this dashboard:
- In all tiles on the new dashboard, data reflects only enrolled learners. This is a slight change from the legacy dashboard, where some tiles also included unenrolled users who had in some way previewed the course but aren’t actually enrolled. For the new version, we’ve excluded those from these statistics based on user feedback and so depending on the configuration of your instance, you +_may_+ notice an effect on view statistics.
- In the Learner Usage Overview and Learner Usage Details tiles (where learners are the organizing factor), we only include learners who have actively engaged in content. You won’t see learners who have no content engagement.
- If you use the Delete User API to anonymize (or effectively delete) users from the platform, you’ll see that these users are still included in most tiles (all except for Learner Usage Overview and Learner Usage Details). Although PII has been cleared / nulled for these users, we _do_ retain the history of user engagement with content and customer feedback has indicated that it’d be helpful to view all historical engagement data. If you don’t want these users included in this dashboard, you can remove them by disabling their accounts and making use of the “Account Disabled?” filter.
Note
In some cases the sublicense filter is not operating properly in Safari; this will be resolved in an upcoming release.

Update Learning Path Milestone Description Field to WYSIWYG
As part of the feature release on April 24th we will be making a minor enhancement to learning paths that may impact your custom CSS. The learning path milestone description field will be updated from a plain text field to a WYSIWYG field, to give users additional formatting options. Any pre-existing content in this field will be maintained once this field is updated to a WYSIWYG.
- To access this milestone description WYSIWYG field in the Authoring interface:
- Currently, users click the edit button besides the Milestone Completion Criteria. In the future, users will access this description using the edit button besides the Milestone Title.
- To target this milestone description with CSS on the Learning Path Milestone widget:
-
List View:
learning-path-milestone-item__subtitle
class will be changed tolearning-path-milestone__description
-
Timeline View:
learning-path-timeline-milestone__subtitle
class will be changed tolearning-path-timeline-milestone__description
-

After this release, users should double check any custom CSS targeting the classes above and make updates as needed.
API
Update Client Access REST API Update
Our April 16th release will include a ticket related to external provisioning flows that make use of the Update Client Access REST API. We do not anticipate that this change will significantly impact any use cases but please see below for details on this planned change and contact your CSM if you have any questions or concerns.
The replaceCourseIds
, replaceCourseTagIds
, and replaceLearningPathIds
properties will apply to the Main license as well as the client. If these properties are set to false, then any new content included in the API request will be added but access will be unchanged for any existing content already provisioned to the client or the Main license. (Previously, Main license access was always replaced, even when the replace properties were set to false.)
We released fixes for the following:
- Calendar Preset Views Can Stop Working if Events With Error Conditions Exist (Such as End Date Before Begin Date)
Note
In some rare cases, sessions with invalid meeting dates may be uploaded via bulk import (i.e. meeting end date is before the meeting start date). When this happens, these sessions will not display on the calendar.
- When "Assessment is Manually graded?" toggle is enabled, learner still sees the gray CAM Item boxes when submitting the answers
