Segment Admin View of Grading Page
Next week’s feature release will include an improvement to the Grading page, aimed at simplifying the submissions list to show only those assignments relevant to each panorama manager or admin. This change may impact any panorama user roles that have the Manage Assignments permission and have access to only a subset of licenses in a panorama. With this release, panorama managers will only be able to view Grading page submissions if all the following are true:
- the learner is in their license (or a “child license” of a license they have access to);
- the learner has completed any assignment within the last year;
- and the assignment is from of a course that they have access to.
They’ll no longer have access to submissions from courses that aren’t relevant to them.
We released fixes for the following:
- Email reflections/workbooks not showing responses in certain languages.
- Unexpected behavior of custom fields with a ":" in the label.
- Custom Content Types created in Authoring Wizard are not added to Content Types Dropdown List.
- CAM Certificate option is missing for SCORM content type.

We released the following quality improvements:
GoTo API Token Authentication Migration
Thought Industries' partner GoTo has deprecated their old API authentication system in favor of a new authentication service, which has required an update to Thought Industries integration configuration. This is purely a technical change to the way we authenticate users when they create events, join meetings, etc. No action is required and this migration should have no impact on existing GoTo connections or meetings.
Main Course List search improvements
We’ve improved search result sort order for the content list on the Courses page (Course All Courses) to make it easier to find the content items you’re looking for. Search will now surface the strongest matches at the top of the list and you’ll also now get better matches on alphanumeric searches, e.g., “UX101”. Title is now the most weighted field for this search experience.
Note
Just to clarify, this improvement currently only applies to the main course list.
We released the following Accessibility improvements:
- Allow admins or content authors to input alt text for the images displayed on catalog and content detail pages for courses and learning paths to ensure that meaningful images must have a concise but descriptive textual equivalent. Alt text can be added in content settings (in the same locations where these images are uploaded). The alt text field will be blank by default. For decorative images, accessibility best practices dictate that the alt text should remain blank so that the image is not described by screen readers.

Milestone Completion Criteria Should Not Apply to Admin
Our September 4th release will include a change that streamlines manager access to content within learning paths. In the future, managers who have access to a learning path will be automatically granted access to all the content within that learning path. Previously, managers were required to complete milestone completion criteria before they could access subsequent milestone content. Role permissions will continue to dictate what actions managers can take on any of the content they have access to.
Note
This change impacts managers only and will have NO impact on learners.
We released fixes for the following:
- Learner Notifications: Notifications are sending although learner assignment has not been marked as complete
August 14th, 2024
We released fixes for the following:
- The purchasable option: "redeem with credits" allows Learner to purchase the same Content multiple times
- "Client License List" API endpoint returning the same client in multiple cursors if the updatedat timestamp was the same.
- "Global Coupons List" API endpoint returning the same coupon in multiple cursors if the udpatedat timestamp was the same.

SETTINGS
Tag Manager: Comprehensive Release Update
We want to keep you informed about an important update to our release plan for the Tag Manager feature. Initially, we had planned to release the Tag Manager in incremental phases, starting with the ability to view all tags within your instance. However, after further consideration, we have decided to consolidate our efforts to deliver a more comprehensive and polished Tag Manager experience all at once.
What's Next?
We are now aiming to release all Tag Manager features, including the ability to view, create, edit, and delete tags from a central interface, in one complete release in the future. This approach allows us to ensure that the feature set is cohesive, fully integrated, and meets the high standards you expect.
What Can You Do Now?
In the meantime, here are a few things you can prepare for:
- Custom Roles & Permissions: Consider which custom roles within your organization should have access to the new Tag Manager interface once it’s released.
- Tag Strategy: Start reviewing your current tag strategy to ensure it aligns with your future needs. This preparation will help you make the most of the new capabilities once they are available.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to deliver a more robust and complete Tag Manager solution. Our goal is to provide you with the best possible tools to manage your tags efficiently, and we believe this consolidated release will better serve your needs.
Stay tuned for more updates.

Moving Content To Folders In Bulk
Exciting new feature! Admins and main site roles with content permissions are now able to move multiple content items in bulk to folders within the Courses and Events lists. This enhancement will significantly reduce the time and effort required to organize content.
Key Features:
- Select up to 50 pieces of content on a page at once
- Move content to multiple folders simultaneously (up to 10 folders)
We hope this new capability improves your workflow and enhances your content management experience! Read our Content Folders article for more guidance.
DATA NOTIFICATIONS
Learner Attendance Webhook
We are thrilled to announce the addition of a new webhook! The new Meeting attendance is updated webhook fires anytime attendance is updated for a learner in a meeting. This includes all attendance updates made in the user interface, via API, or via bulk import, including updates where the attendance status wasn’t changed (e.g., API updated to “not attended” twice in a row). The webhook’s data payload includes data about the user, course group, course, meeting, and learner attendance.
To set it up:
- Go to Users > Notifications > Manager Notifications.
- Click Add Notification.
- Select Meeting attendance is updated.
- Select Webhook.

We released the following quality improvements:
Panorama Grading page enhancement
We've enhanced the search function on the Panorama Grading page to cater specifically to power users managing large numbers of learners. With this update, searches will return results exclusively for learners who have completed any gradable assignment, assessment, survey, or Bongo assessment within the past year.
- If a learner hasn’t completed any assignments in the past year, none of their assignments will appear on the Panorama Grading page.
- However, if they have completed any assignments in the past year, all their past assignments will be visible. This optimization ensures a more efficient and focused grading experience.
Note
This change only affects the panorama grading page, not the main site page; all assignments/assessments are returned in search results on the main site grading page. The learner experience is also unaffected; this change only relates to the admin-facing panorama grading page.
Minor UI update to Content Types language
We're making a minor UI update on the Content Types settings pages by changing the terminology to 'Base Content Type,' which replaces the previous 'Template' label. This update aims to clearly distinguish this feature from the recently released Templates Folder feature. To see the change, navigate to Courses > Settings > Content Types. For more information about Content Types, see this article.
Update Purchasable Content via API
Improve your workflow by updating purchasable content and tags via our API. You can now update Panorama purchasable content IDs and purchasable tag IDs using the Update Client Access REST API.
New Bulk Remove User Access Rest API Endpoint
Introducing our new Bulk Remove User Access endpoint—an exciting upgrade to streamline your administrative tasks! With this powerful REST API endpoint, admins can now effortlessly remove multiple learners from courses or learning paths in one go, without affecting their existing access elsewhere. This enhancement builds on our Create and Update User endpoint, making it easier than ever to manage content access without needing to track enrollment with separate CSVs.
Key features include:
- Support for arrays of learner users, course IDs, and/or learning path IDs.
- Revocation of access without resetting learner progress.
Check out our API documentation for all the details and start enjoying more efficient user management today!
Helium Enhancement: New GraphQL mutation for Redeeming Credit Balances
We’ve created a new GraphQL mutation for RedeemBalance
. Admins who use the Learner Credit Balance feature flag to assign individual learners a credit balance, now have the ability to allow learners to use their individual credit balance to purchase content directly from natively built Helium apps. See details and limitations below.
A few key things to note about using this mutation:
- The
RedeemBalance
mutation will update the user's record to their new balance, insert the credit redemption action event, and add the content to the user's purchased courses. - This mutation is designed to work in tandem with our existing suite of Helium mutations and queries. See our GraphQL API documentation for more details.
Limitations:
- Only impacts our Learner Credit Balance functionality. No impact on Panorama Training Credits.
- This mutation will only impact admins and learners using our Learner Credit Balance feature flag to assign learners an individual credit balance.
- This mutation will have no impact on admins and learners using “Panorama Training Credits” assigned at the panorama level. These panorama-level training credits can still only be redeemed at the natively built Thought Industries learner portals. They cannot be redeemed in Helium apps.
- Credit balance can only be redeemed for courses.
- Reminder that a learner can only use their individual learner credit balance to purchase courses. We currently do not offer
RedeemBalance
functionality for learning paths in the Thought Industries product or via Helium apps.
- Reminder that a learner can only use their individual learner credit balance to purchase courses. We currently do not offer
Remove Archived Label from Certificate Display Name
Exciting improvement for admins using the Always Regenerate Certificates feature flag! We’ve streamlined the look of certificate titles by removing the 'Archived' label, so certificates for these courses will display only the course name, making for a cleaner and more polished presentation.
We released the following Accessibility improvements:
- Ensure that the HTML heading level matches the heading’s visual importance so that learning path page is more easily navigable by learners who are using screen readers.
We released fixes for the following:
- Zoom Recurring Webinars: Data from the previously created session is pre-populated in the modal for the new session.
