Thought Industries supports many third party integrations out of the box including Zapier, Google Analytics, and Segment. For custom integrations, you can use SFTP, webhooks, or email.
In this article, you will find instructions for integrating with Zapier. Zapier moves information between web apps automatically and can be used to connect Thought Industries to hundreds of other applications.
Where do I find this?
To find your API Key:
Settings > Security
To create notifications:
Settings > Integrations > Notifications
How do I do this?
- As a first step, you must accept this invite from Thought Industries.
- After you've accepted the invite, go to your Zapier account and click Make a New Zap. Then, click on the Thought Industries icon.
- Select the trigger you want to start with (e.g. new email captured). Click Save + Continue.
- Click Connect to New Account and enter your Thought Industries host as prompted, for example www.yourcustomdomain.com or customdomain.thoughtindustries.com. Do not include https:// or /.
- Enter your API key (which you can find on Thought Industries at Settings > Security). Click Yes, Continue.
- Click Test Account to confirm it is working. Click Save + Continue.
- Now, login to your site as an admin and go to Settings > Integrations > Notifications.
- Click New Notification and select the event you are setting up (e.g. email is entered by learner).
- Click the webhook icon and paste the webhook URL provided in Zapier. Click Test Event to confirm it is working.
- Zapier will prompt you to go and complete the event to trigger the webhook.
Note
Note that you cannot be logged in as Admin when you trigger events. You must log out or test in private browse mode.
- Once you’ve triggered the event, got back to your Zapier dashboard and confirm the test was successful. You can then view the way that the data comes over in the webhook. Zapier will use this as an example for setting up the rest of your Zap. Click Continue.
What else do I need to know?
- The next steps depend on what you are connecting to. Below is an example connecting to Hubspot:
- Search for your Action App - for example Hubspot.
- Select the action you want to take in Hubspot. So for example, if you want all email captures to "Add a Contact to Workflow”, select that option. Click Save + Continue.
- Click Connect a New account and enter your Hubspot ID. Then click Yes, Continue.
- Click Test Account to confirm it is working. Click Save + Continue.
- That's all, you're done!
