There are several default roles for your learning site (Admin, Course Author, Customer Service, etc.) as well as any custom roles that you may create (see our Managing Admin Users article for more information).
Anyone who is assigned a role that has Manage Users permissions will be able to easily search for an existing user within the site.
Where do I find this?
Find a learner:
Users > Learners
Find a manager:
Users > Managers
How do I do this?
Finding a learner:
- From your homepage, select Users.
- From the left menu, select Learners.
- Go to the search field at the top of the page and enter the user email address or name you're searching for.
Tip
To view disabled learners, click View Disabled at the bottom of the page. This is a great first place to check if you're having trouble finding a user.
- Once you locate your user, click on the user's name to view the user's profile.
- From here, you can modify content access or user information, and also view onboarding information.
- Click Save.
Finding a manager:
- From your homepage, select Users.
- From the left menu, select Managers.
- Go to the search field at the top of the page and enter the user email address or name.
Tip
To view disabled managers, click View Disabled at the bottom of the any role list. This is a great first place to check if you're having trouble finding a user. Once you've navigated to any disabled users list, you can still use the search feature to get results across manager roles for disabled users.
- Once you locate your user, click on the user's name to review manager details.
- From here, you can modify details as needed.
- Click Save.
What else do I need to know
- Depending on the particular permissions configured for your role, you may not be able to access and modify user details. See Editing a User Record for more information.
