In your platform, you have options for how you can offer resources for learners to reference while inside of a course. In this article, we will focus on creating a set of global resources that are included in all courses.
Use Case Information
Within your content, you can provided resources for your learners to access in a couple of different ways, using the Course-Level Resource and/or using the Global Resource Library. Global Resource Library allows you to include a set of resources that are accessible from all courses. These resources are associated with categories and subcategories for easy filtering. When both are included, learners will see both global and course-level resources in the same utility area.
Tip
Course-Level Resource Library offers you the option to add resources at the course level so that they can be accessed for that particular course. If you are interested in learning more about the course-level resource option, please refer to our Adding Resources and Downloadable Files in a Course article.
Components of the Global Resource Library
There are two different categories of resources you can add to the library:
Resource Category
Adding a resource category allows you to: Create or copy course pages. Most page types are available to create as a resource for learners, but common use cases include slideshows or PDF Viewer pages.
Note
Assessment type pages are not available to add as a resource.
Downloadable Category
Adding a downloadable category allows you to upload files for users to download as a resource from inside of a course.

Downloadable files can be added directly from your desktop or can be a asset from the Central Asset Manager
