The Search Bar widget is most useful when trying to direct learners to your catalog page. Once the learner types in their query and clicks Search, the results will display on your built in catalog page.

Design > Layouts > Actions > Edit
For custom pages:
Design > Pages > Actions > Design
This widget is available in the following layouts:

- Support

- Catalog
- Custom Pages
How do I do this?
- Add a Search Bar widget to your page by clicking on the widget item in the widget menu on the left.
- Add a CSS Class to personalize your Search Bar widget.
- Click Save.

Note
This widget cannot function properly on the built in Catalog page as it is meant to lead users to the Catalog page itself.
The action of searching in the Search Bar widget will lead the learner to the built in Catalog page (/catalog) from any built in or custom page where you include the Search Bar widget.

After making updates to your page design, we always recommend viewing the final product from a learner's perspective to get the full effect.
