Using the Purchasable Content field in a panorama, managers can curate content outside of the included panorama content to display as an option in the client's catalog. The feature works in conjunction with the “Enable Content Outside of Client” feature. When toggled on, the manager can allow the learner to have access to all content outside of the provisioned content to purchase, or select specific content the learner can purchase.
Where do I find this?
To toggle "Enable Content Outside of Client" to "Yes":
Panorama > Actions > Edit > Settings > Primary
To assign specific purchasable content:
Panorama > Actions > Edit > Settings > Access
How do I do this?
To manage purchasable content inside of a panorama:
- From your dashboard, select Panorama, then go to Settings, then Primary.
- Toggle the setting for "Enable Content Outside of Client" to "Yes".
- This setting allows users in the client to see any content not currently provisioned to the panorama and respective sublicenses.
- This setting allows users in the client to see any content not currently provisioned to the panorama and respective sublicenses.
- Recommended method - From there, go to Access to provision specific purchasable content (also under Settings).
- Add content to the Purchasable Content fields (individually or via tag) as needed to limit what the learners will view as purchasable in the catalog widget.
Tip
If content is not specified in the purchasable content field, all published content will be available by default.
- Click Save.
Note
If the content is not displaying properly in the catalog widget, check the following:
- Ensure you are testing as a learner role with that panorama and a sublicense assigned to the test user.
- Check any custom catalog settings by going to Panorama > Actions > Edit > Design > Dashboard Layout > Design Layout > click the pencil icon on the catalog widget. Custom settings may include queries or provisioning to limit the content displaying in the catalog widget.
- Make sure purchasable content is available for purchase by toggling "Make Purchasable" to "Yes" in the content settings on the Ecommerce page (Content > Actions > Settings > Ecommerce).
What else do I need to know?
- Currently only individual content items can be added as purchasable content. Subscriptions and collections are not available to Purchase within Panorama.
- Using the recommended method, you must choose specific purchasable content to provision to the panorama (in the Purchasable Content field under Panorama > Edit > Settings > Access). In this case, content does not have to be released in order for the content to be available for purchase in the panorama. This is keeping with normal panorama functionality.
- If you do not to choose specific content within the Access section to display as purchasable content, then the following issues will occur (This feature is not intended to be left blank):
- All released content from the main catalog will be now visible to the Panorama Client within their catalog widget.
- Content that has been provisioned to the Panorama but is not released will no longer be visible in their Catalog Widget.
What does this look like?
Admin View:

Learner View:
Looking at the previous Admin View screenshot of the Access settings page, it matches what displays to the learner in the screenshot below. The Access settings page shows that the learners in this panorama with Main sublicense access will have unrestricted access to "Intro to Ti", but "Service Dog Training 101", 202, and 303 will be displayed as purchasable.
