If your learners have access to large amounts of content through subscriptions or panoramas, or maybe you get feedback from your learners that their dashboard is too cluttered, this learner archive feature may provide value for your use case and to your learners. This feature allows you to accomplish the following:
- Automatically archive content once access has expired.
- Allow learners to manually control their archive so they can access & keep track of the content they want more easily.
Learner Content Archiving is behind a feature flag.
Reach out to Thought Industries Tech Success & Support for assistance to enable this feature in your instance.
Where do I find this?
To enable learner-facing auto archiving based on Access Dates:
Settings > Content > Organization & Display > Learner Display section
To enable manual content archiving from the Access widget:
Design > Layouts > Dashboard Layout Actions > Edit
How do I do this?
To enable learner-facing auto archiving based on Access Dates:
- Navigate to site Settings > Content > Organization & Display.
- Locate the Learner Display section.
- Toggle "Enable Content Archiving?" to "Yes".
- Click Save.
Note
Once Content Archiving is enabled, content with an access end date will automatically move to the archive tab in the Access widget.
To enable manual content archiving from the Access widget:
- Navigate to Design > Layouts.
- Locate the Dashboard layout and click Actions > Edit.
Note
The Access widget may be added to other pages; the Dashboard layout is simply where it appears by default. The same toggle for manual archiving is available anywhere the Access widget is available.
- For example, if you'd like to enable manual archiving for a panorama, you can do so by customizing the panorama dashboard with the Access widget. Navigate to Panorama > Actions > Edit > Design > Design layout next to Dashboard layout. Add or locate the Access widget and continue steps.
