If you're having trouble getting into Academy, we want to help! All of our Academy content requires users to sign in via SSO so you can easily see what you've already reviewed and get recommendations for what to take next. Using this method also ensures you only need one login to your Thought Industries instance and the Academy.
First, here's a quick step by step on how to sign into Academy.
- Log into your Thought Industries instance with your manager credentials.
- Typically, you'll land on your manager homepage.
- From there, click on Need Help? in the left navigation.
- Scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and click on Learn More in Academy.
- Academy will open in a new tab in your browser.
- At this point, you will typically land on your learner dashboard and be automatically signed in. Yay!
If you do not land on your learner dashboard, you probably see the Academy sign in page. Don't worry! This just means you weren't automatically logged in and we need one piece of information to get you signed in and learning.
What is this one piece of information? Your Thought Industries company domain!
Each customer has a different company domain, so we need your help to know where to sign you in.
What is my Thought Industries company domain?
Sometimes referred to as your Instance URL, your Thought Industries company domain is simply the link you go to when you want to login to your learning site.
When you become a customer, we provide a site URL for your company that follows this format:
Most customers set up a custom domain that masks this original site URL. If that's you, go here.
If you know what your original site URL is, great! All you have to do is enter your subdomain, which is companyname in the format above.
My Thought Industries company domain is 'samantha.thoughtindustries.com'.
If I hit the sign in page to Academy, I would enter 'samantha' to let the page know where to send me to login.
If I'm already logged into 'samantha.thoughtindustries.com', I will land on my Academy dashboard after providing my instance subdomain:
If I'm NOT already logged into 'samantha.thoughtindustries.com', I will land on my instance sign in page first, log in with my manager credentials, then land on my Academy dashboard:
What do I do if I have a custom domain?
If you have a custom domain, no problem! Simply copy your custom domain without https:// and paste it in the Academy sign in page. Make sure no extra slashes or spaces exist!
My custom domain is 'www.sgdeducation.com', but when I copy it from my browser, it pastes as 'https://sgdeducation.com/'.
If I hit the Academy sign in page, I would enter 'www.sgdeducation.com' with no slashes or spaces.
If you are in a sign in loop, meaning entering your company domain isn't taking you anywhere except the sign in page, reach out to Tech Success and Support at email@example.com or via the Help Center.
