Accessibility Update for End of Course Star Rating
Our Feb 5 release will include a ticket that may have an effect on any custom CSS that you are using to target the star rating element that appears when a learner has completed a course or article. Please see below for details on this planned change.
- The class name for the stars component that allows rating an article or course has changed from
.stars
to.star-chooser
. The previous.stars
class is still used when displaying ratings. Anyone targeting the.stars
class will likely want to also target the.star-chooser
class as well (targeting both the old and new class). - The
span
tag for the stars component has been changed to afieldset/code tag. Anyone targeting this element will want to change to the
fieldset
tag. - The
i
tag for the stars component that allows rating an article or course has been wrapped in alabel
tag and there are additionalinput
tags andspan
tags adjacent to them. Anyone targeting thei
tag of the stars component may need to include or account for these additional elements. - Example:
- Original code
.sidebar__testimonial__rating .stars span i
- Updated code
-
.sidebar__testimonial__rating .stars fieldset label i
and.sidebar__testimonial__rating .star-chooser .fieldset label i

Sunsetting Social Share Cards
As part of our ongoing efforts to focus on features that bring the most value to our customers, we will be discontinuing support for the Social Share Cards page type as of February 5th.
What this means for you:
- Existing pages will remain functional in your courses, so there’s no immediate impact.
- However, we recommend removing Social Share Cards from your courses since we will no longer maintain or upgrade this functionality.
Alternative solutions:
We offer several other ways to enable social sharing for your users, including:
- Social share buttons at the end of each course.
- Sharing Certificates on LinkedIn to showcase achievements.
This change allows us to dedicate resources to developing impactful features that better meet your needs.
