You don't have to manage Lens on your own. You can invite the people you work with, like the person who writes your help articles or runs your support team, so they can add content, set up channels, and see what customers are asking. In Lens, these people are called teammates.
This article explains how to invite a teammate and how to manage the people who already have access.
Use Case Information
If different people on your team own different content, like a docs writer, a support lead, and someone from sales, inviting them lets each person keep their own content up to date in Lens.
If you're trying Lens out, invite a teammate so you can explore it together.
If someone changes roles or leaves the company, you can change or remove their access in a few clicks.
What Is a Teammate?
A teammate is anyone who can sign in to your Lens workspace. When you invite someone, you give them a role, either Member or Admin. You can change a teammate's role anytime.
You manage teammates on the People page, which you'll find under Administration at the bottom of the menu on the left. How many teammates you can invite depends on your plan.
How to Invite a Teammate
- At the bottom of the menu on the left, under Administration, click People.
- Click Invite teammate.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
- Choose their role: Member or Admin.
- Send the invitation.
The person gets an invitation to join your workspace. Once they accept it, they show up in the list on the People page.
Managing Teammates
The People page lists everyone in your workspace, along with each person's role and when they last used Lens. From here, you can:
- Find someone: Type a name or email address in the search box, or filter the list by role to see only Members or only Admins.
- Change a role: Find the person in the list, open the menu on their row, and choose a new role.
- Remove someone: Find the person in the list, open the menu on their row, and click Remove.
Tip
You can jump to the People page from anywhere in Lens. Press ⌘K on a Mac to open the command palette, which is a quick search box, then type "People."
FAQs
No. Each workspace has its own list of teammates. Inviting someone to one workspace doesn't give them access to any others.
Check the Last active time next to their name on the People page. It shows when they last used Lens.
They can no longer sign in to that workspace.
