If you have an existing presentation or slide deck and would like to incorporate them into a course, you can! Thought Industries has a page type for that!
Use Case Information
The presentation page type is an image slideshow with a separate audio clip for each slide. Users must click Play for the first slide, but moving to the subsequent slide will automatically play the next audio clip. Presentations can be uploaded to the system slide by slide or by uploading an entire PPT, PDF, or Keynote presentation file.

How to Configure a Presentation Page into a Course:
Uploading an existing PowerPoint or Keynote file:
- From your homepage, select Content, then Manage Content.
- Click the Content Title for to the course you want to alter.
- Within the course outline, go to the lesson where you'd like to add a presentation page type. Click Add Page.
- Choose the Presentation page type.
- Add a page title.
- Click Save.
- Click on Upload Presentation. Drag presentation file or click in the box to upload your file.
- Once the file has been uploaded, you will see a series of slides that you can reorder, edit, and/or delete. For each slide, click the pencil icon to add a title, caption, and/or audio file. Click Save Slide
- You can choose to add new slides using the first set of instructions above, or even upload another presentation file.
- Toggle the "Show Sidebar?" setting to "Yes" if you'd like to display a sidebar (e.g. title, caption) to the right of each slide.
Admin View: - You can also find the following options under Advanced Settings:
- Unlocking for editing by children? - This offers Panorama roles, who have the permission, to edit this page in your course.
- Indentation Level - This allows for the syllabus in the course menu to be indented. When enabled, you can nest pages under each other.
- # of seconds required for completion - Number of seconds required to mark this page as complete. If set, the learner must remain on the page (without refreshing or going to another page) for the number of seconds specified in order to be marked complete.
- Audio Narration File - Although it is not system functionality to record audio in the platform, you can upload audio files.

This allows for the syllabus in the course menu to be indented. When enabled, you can nest pages under each other.
creating a Presentation by uploading slide by slide:
- See steps 1-5 above.
- To add individual slides, click on Add Slide. Drag an image, or click in the box to upload your image. Click Save Image. Once image has been uploaded you can resize it. The recommended image size is 1400 x 1052 pixels, which is a 16:9 ratio, but you can use a different size if needed.
- Give your slide a title and caption. You can also add Alt text or add an audio file. In addition, you can add a text box above or below the slide as a way to provide further information to the learner. Go to the area above or below the slide and click Add Text Box. Click Save Slide.
- Click Expand Sidebar to expose a text box editor (WYSIWYG) where you can provide additional information to your learners in the right margin of the page. You can also add image under this options menu.

Notes, Tips, and Considerations
- If you are uploading a PowerPoint or Keynote presentation file, any slide animations or interactions will be captured as a snapshot. This includes audio files in the presentation.
- To maintain animation in a presentation, you will need to export and upload as a video.
- A text block editor (WYSIWYG) is available on the top and bottom of all page types in the native course authoring tool to provide even more information to your learners.
